The AT-VM95 is the result of many years of development work and accumulated experience, and replaces the classic AT90 series pickups such as the AT91 and AT95

The VM concept with two magnets has been used to achieve better channel separation. This type of construction previously only existed in the more exclusive series from Audio-Technica, so it is a great sonic boost that the entry-level series has also been endowed with this concept.

Elliptical stylus tip
You can never escape the fact that the stylus is one of the most important components of a pickup. The material and shape of the stylus determine so much of the final result. The VM95EN has a bare tip, which means that a larger diamond has been mounted directly in the tubular aluminum cantilever. The diamond has an elliptical cut with a radius of 0.3x0.7 mil. Compared to a conical tip, the elliptical tip can follow the shape of the record groove better and thus perceive even small variations, which ultimately provides a more detailed sound. Elliptical grinding provides a larger vertical contact surface in the record groove and if the pickup is set correctly, this results in less wear on the needle and record.

Fixed threads
To make assembly and adjustment easier, the VM95 series has fixed threads, which means that no nuts are needed during assembly.
